Form School & Flaying Star Feng Shui

Feng shui is the practice of successfully achieving a harmonious flow of energy in either a home or an office building. To complete this practice comprehensively, two branches of feng shui must be used in combination. These are called Form School Feng Shui, and Flying Star Feng Shui. In addition to this, we then add in the personal Chinese astrology of the inhabitants to complete the picture.

To easier comprehend this, think of Form School Feng Shui as the computer, and Flying Star Feng Shui as the software. They co exist, are interrelated and one cannot exist without the other. Form school deals with the surrounding environment, with what we can see and physically shift. Flying stars deal with the unseen energies inherent in our buildings that deliver impact often without us knowing them.

Form School Feng Shui is actually quite widely known. The average person is usually aware of some basic form school rules: mirrors in the bedroom can cause havoc; foot of the bed shouldn’t face an open door, especially at the end of a long hallway; front doors shouldn’t open up to face toilets; a door shouldn’t face another door. Just to name a few.

However, not limited to furniture placement and decorating, Form School Feng Shui also deals with the surrounding environment - the lay of the land and the positioning of our building within it. Whether there are mountains or streams close by or in the distance, and the energies these deliver to our building. In cities we look at large buildings, busy roads, car parks, obtrusive structures such as transmission towers, and the effects these will have on our buildings.

Flying Star Feng Shui deals with the unseen energies that exist within a structure. When buildings are completed, and the first occupants move in, this gives our homes or offices an age, or a “born” date. In addition, every building has an obvious facing direction that is determined through using the Lo Pan or Chinese compass. When this direction is combined with the age of the building the flying star chart can be created.

As a Chinese Astrology, Four Pillars of Destiny reading is an energy map of peoples lives, the building’s flying star chart is its energy map that details what effects the inhabitants of the building will receive over certain periods of time.

Flying stars are dynamic and always changing with time. Flying Star Feng Shui is the only branch of feng shui that takes into consideration the effects of time on the energy of a building. There are base flying stars, or base energies that govern the feng shui of our home for twenty year periods. However, every year particular flying stars arrive in different locations. We need to pay attention to the more damaging stars and diminish them. By the same token, there are also positive stars that arrive in different locations. These can always be enhanced, but only under specific circumstances. So once you have a feng shui evaluation done on your home, it is necessary to update and maintain it every year, usually around Chinese New Year.
